It was on a cold and wintery day on Jan 15, 2016 when a new and extremely different news magazine dedicated to Mother Earth published its first issue! Yes, TreeTake, a one-of-its-kind monthly bi-lingual colour magazine was thus born with the motto that it is 'of Nature, for Nature, by us’: A genuine and positive effort aimed at creating awareness with well-researched articles; engaging common people and intellectuals alike, and making them realize their duties to help make possible a clean and green society; highlighting issues and challenges before us to arrive at positive solutions, TreeTake was conceptualized to be a complete magazine that had something to offer to everyone- from a school going kid, youth, housewife to a scientist- in an informative but engrossing manner. No wonder it stood apart from every publication of its genre, whether national or international!
A New Year never remained the same for us! It held special significance. It marked the birth anniversary of our magazine. This year TreeTake turns 10 and we wish to thank our readers, columnists, correspondents and patrons for their unwavering support and belief in us. We hope over the years, this magazine has been able to serve the purpose for which it was ‘created’. It aims to transcend the boundaries of politics, states, and even nations—after all, the earth and its environment concern everyone, and no part of the country or the world can claim to remain unaffected by adverse impacts meted out to it.
How we wish to create a green world in the actual sense- a term used to describe the natural world and plants and refers to (at present largely hypothetical) a planet with a diverse biosphere! A greener world promotes practical, sustainable solutions in agriculture by supporting farmers and educating consumers. We believe the way we farm, the nutritional quality of the meat, milk and eggs produced—and the impact of farming systems on wildlife, the environment and wider society—are all connected. Green living is an easy way to directly reduce our carbon footprint and overall global emissions. By implementing simple habits like reducing our use of plastic or electricity consumption, we immediately make a difference in pollution – even if we can't really see it. We can reduce our consumption of things that require natural resources or pollute the planet; waste less; rethink cultural norms and traditions; and. find cleaner solutions to everyday needs and wants. We must vow to add our bit to sustainable development. Sustainable development is based on three fundamental pillars: social, economic and environmental. It means development of human resources in form of extreme poverty reduction, global gender equity, and wealth redistribution. Thus, we need to measure processes and products according to carbon and water footprints, resource efficiency, environmental risks, recyclability, and sustainability. Each process should include objectives for reducing environmental load and pollution. While thinking on these lines, we must never forget to protect our biosphere which is full of beautiful living organisms of all kinds. Yes, even if we make small, united efforts, there is no reason why we cannot attain that so far hypothetical but enchanting ‘green world’ in the near future- maybe by 2030!
Tree Take Wishes All A Very Happy New Year
