Anti-rabies workshop & campaign

The Awadh Pet Practitioner’s Association (APPA-UP), taking a pledge to eradicate rabies in their area, not only organised a two-day awareness and free anti-rabies vaccination camp in a city mall in Lucknow wherein anyone could bring his/her pet for a free shot (the impetus being majorly on street dogs that are mainly at risk) but continued the mission for about a week by going from place to place in the city to give the street dogs the free shots. It may be mentioned here that the World Rabies Day is celebrated on September 28 every year. The day marks the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur who, with the collaboration of his colleagues, developed the first efficacious rabies vaccine. World Rabies Day aims to raise awareness about the impact of rabies on humans and animals, provide information and advice on how to prevent the disease in at-risk communities, and support advocacy for increased efforts in rabies control. The WHO has set a goal to eliminate dog-mediated human rabies deaths by 2030. -TreeTake Network
